Signs you may be addicted to social networking
I bet you know somebody who seems to spend too much time on their computer or phone. You know, the type that's constantly checking e-mail at lunch or in meetings. Or the teenager that you see texting at all hours of the day. (Texting one-handed while eating? No problem. But remember texting while driving is now illegal in several states.)

But let's put it in perspective... these guys just couldn't let go of their social networking sites:
  • Last week, a teenager was arrested after breaking into an office furniture store. While there, he went Web-surfing and posted to his MySpace page. You can read about it here.

  • Also last week, one of Italy's most-wanted criminals, a mafia boss, was arrested after police traced his signal... when he repeatedly logged into his Facebook account from his hideout. He had been on the run for months. You can read that one here.
These aren't the only examples of criminal addiction to social networking; you'll see them popping up in the news periodically, just as you'll see the authorities making good use of the social networking sites to catch them.

And you have to admit, they're good for a laugh.
